The other day, I had some errands to run, and I was not going to be home around lunchtime.  Well, my husband comes home every day for lunch, and I usually have his lunch made by the time he gets home.

Seeing how I was not home he made his lunch, and was about to eat it when he heard a knock on the door.  It was my daughter, so he let her in and was talking to her for a short time.  She got up to leave so he walked her to the door to say good-by.  When he returned to eat his lunch, it was gone, and so was Abby. He ran outside, and there she was eating the last bite of his sandwich. He only has a short time home for lunch, so he did not have time to make another sandwich. So he left, and picked up some fast food on his way back to the shop.

Needless to say he was not a happy camper, and not because she ate his lunch, well ok, maybe a little bit, but because of Abby, he was running late, and almost did not get any lunch at all.

This past Friday, I had a lot of errands to run, so I was gone for most of the day.  Abby was really good, and did not get into any trouble that day, until Friday night. My husband called, and needed a ride home from work. So I left in kind of a hurry, to pick him up from work.  When we came home, the first thing he asked me was, where did you leave this?  It was a lid to my Freshvac Vacuum Food Storage containers, which has a silicone seal in it.  Well, as we all know by now, Abby loves silicone.  So here is another lid I can’t use for now. She also got some mail, and tore that up all over the carpet, and I had just bought a new People magazine, which I found on the carpet.  Thank goodness she only ripped up a little bit of the one article I wanted to read.

All of this happened in a matter of 20 minutes. I am guessing she was upset that I was gone again.
She also got another lid the other day, and ate the silicone out of it.  I thought I had put the container and lid up, but I hadn’t.  I called the Freshvac Company, and thank goodness I can get the silicone seals to replace the ones that Abby has eaten.

The other night, I was cooking dinner, and making something new called Quinoa, its 100% whole grain.  It’s a bit different, but good. I was using a wooden spoon to stir the Quinoa, I set the spoon down on the counter, and went to the fridge to get something out, I came back to the stove to stir the Quinoa, and my spoon was gone.  I ran to the bedroom, to see if Abby was there on the bed chewing on it, and of course when she heard me coming she ran outside with spoon in mouth.  I ran after her to get it back, well she did not want to give it up.  She started to run back and forth in the yard with this spoon in her mouth.  I told her to sit, yea right, no way; she kept running in the yard.  Finally, I told her to drop it, and sit, and she did, but not before half of the spoon was gone.

That is about the third spoon I have lost, it’s a good thing they can be replaced.

Abby, Abby, Abby, several story’s ago I talked about how she loves silicone, and in particular our cell phone’s.  Well, last night my oldest daughter came by to give me a book to read.  We had a nice visit, and she was getting ready to leave, so my husband, and I walked her to the door to say good-bye.  We walked her outside, and it was on the chilly side so my husband came back in, and I stayed outside for a bit talking to my daughter.  When my daughter left I came back in the house, and talked to my husband for a bit, then went to our bedroom, and there on the bed was a cell phone. I picked it up, and realized it was my husbands phone with the outside cover gone; yes, it was the silicone part of the cover. She ate the whole cover; there was not one piece of it anywhere, in the room, or on the bed.

I took his phone out to him, and showed him, and while I gave him his phone, I looked down on the table, and there was my phone sitting in plain site. For some reason, Abby chose to chew up his phone, and not mine for a change. I just could not believe that we both left our phones out where Abby could get them.

I went back into the bedroom, and in Abby’s kennel, I saw a blue blinking light, low and behold there was his Bluetooth blinking away. I took that out to him, my husband checked it over, and it seemed to be ok, however he needed to charge it to see if, in fact it was ok.  Why she did not chew the Bluetooth up into little pieces, is a miracle to us.

I think she got mad at me, because I was gone all afternoon yesterday, and when I am not home, she seems to get into more trouble.  She must have some issues with us being gone, and leaving her, and Maggie home alone.

The phone covers we now have for our phones, are called Otter Box. My husband called the company, so he could buy another outside part for his cover.  Katie in customer service asked him what happened, so he told her that his dog chewed the silicone part off the phone, she said really, could you send us a picture of your dog, as they have a wall with dog pictures on it, of dogs who chew up phone covers.  My husband said sure, no problem, and then asked Katie how much the new part would be.  She said, oh no sir, there is no charge for this.

My husband told her what great customer service this company had, that they stand behind their company and their product, which, by the way is a great product. If anyone reading this has an iPhone, or any other phone, I would highly recommend an Otter Box cover for your phone.

OK, so Abby has been on a roll for the past two days.  Yesterday my husband came home for lunch.  He finished his lunch, and put his plate on the kitchen counter, with a few grapes left on his plate.  I walked my husband to the door to say good-bye, and when I returned to the kitchen, the plate was on the floor, and the grapes were gone.  Thank goodness there were only a few grapes left on his plate, as I understand that grapes are not good for dogs.

This morning I had said good-bye to my husband and jumped in the shower, when I got out of the shower, I headed to the kitchen; there on the floor was a spoon and napkin.  My husband had made himself some oatmeal for breakfast, and put his dishes in the sink.  Abby had gotten in the sink, and pulled the spoon out of the bowl so she could finish what was left on the spoon. I guess I should feel lucky that she did not pull the bowl out of the sink, to get what was left in it, the bowl would have broken, and would have been a huge mess.  I am not sure where the napkin was, but she had torn that into a bunch of pieces all over he kitchen floor.

Today while I was out and about, Abby got my newspaper.  I did not finish reading the paper last night, so it was my fault I left it out, I had newspaper all over the carpet in about a 100 pieces. I got it all picked up, and all I could do was laugh.

This past Christmas, I had cooked a turkey on the BBQ for our Christmas dinner. Part of it was a little under cooked, so I put the turkey parts in some foil, and then on a cookie sheet to put in the oven to finish cooking.  It finished cooking, so I put the cookie sheet on the counter to cool off before I put the turkey away.

I went to get my running shoes on, so I could do my 30-minute walk.  While I was putting my shoes on I heard a loud bang, sure enough Abby had knocked the cookie sheet off the counter to get at the turkey. Now mind you, this was very hot, it had only been on the counter, out of the oven, for about 5 minutes.

Well, fortunately only some of the juices spilled out on to the floor, which Abby licked up as fast as she could before I got to the kitchen.  At the time this happened we had Norman, he came into the kitchen after Abby had left, and started to lick up some of the juices.  I have rubber mats on the floor in the kitchen, and some of the juices spilled on to the mat.  Well, Norman started to eat the mat, to get all the turkey juice he could.  Of course I stopped him from eating the mat, but he kept coming back to lick up as much as he could.  Continued

Abby has been on a roll the past two days, a new JCP catalog came, and I had set it on the counter to look at later in the day.  Well of course, later came, and I did not look at the catalog, but Abby saw it, grabbed it, came out in the family room where we were watching TV, and just stared at us, like see what I have, come, and get it.  For some reason she dropped it, and come over to my husband, he held her while I retrieved the catalog, before that was destroyed.

The this afternoon, I had just finished making my husbands lunch, and was putting everything away, leaving the bread for last, had opened the fridge door, shut it, and in that short of time, Abby had grabbed the bread, and was out her doggie door.  I ran outside, but of course, too late.  She had the bread bag open, bread all over the lawn, in the gravel, in the play yard for grand kids. When I got to her, she grabbed two large pieces of the bread, and took off running.  I picked up what was left, while she continued to eat her bread.  This was a brand new loaf of bread, sour dough, and really, really good.  So there went my lunch for today.

Abby is in one of her moods, lets see how much trouble I can get into today moods, heaven forbid what she will do next, but I am sure something.
